Hi,

Sorry for the subject heading - wasn't sure how to word.
Is there such a thing as a no-messing SIM with a chunk of data allowance, doesn't even need to have a number assigned to it - that you can purchase, slam in a device and use until the data runs out?
No messing about with setting up accounts to register, having to add monthly renewal information etc.
Just SIM arrives, you slam it in a device and it'll work until there is no allowance left?

I'm thinking probably not - but wanted to ask the question.

Just search on Amazon for preloaded data sim.
 
My phone holds 2 sims, so I use one of these as one just for data, last 2 years and doesn't time out, you can recharge them after the data is used but its cheaper just to buy another. The last one I bought off Amazon for about £35, but they are on Ebay as well, sometimes called internet with legs

Thanks all - just looking for a no-nonsense SIM with a chunk of data on to pop into the car. Got a few journeys planned where I believe I'm going to have a couple of "young un's" in the car and it would be handy if there was a hot spot for them to connect to.
Not adverse to actually registering - but was just wanting something buy and chuck in.

Amazon do an EE data SIM , 12 months / 120 GB.

I use mine in the car as a wifi hotspot, same SSID / password as the house so my devices don't know they've left home :)

Thats exactly what you do with the one I suggested, I have also used one in a MiFi as well
