Hi all,

I have lot's and lot's of photo's and video's of my little daughter that I want to make sure stay safe forever.

At the moment I have 3 Internal HDD's on my PC connected at all times and I have the data duplicated on two of them.
I am now looking at a different way of storing the data, and I am looking for some advice. My ideas so far are:

1. External USB HDD 500Gb
2. DVD's (Although I require more than one and its a bit of a pain)
3. Online storage??

Anyone got any thoughts or new ideas on any of these, obviously the safer the better.

Many Thanks

I have a server sitting in my garage which backs up data from all the computers in the house each day. The chances of both hard disks failing at the same time are next to none and has the bonus of being a separate building so protects from fire.

Your setup is ok but if there were a power surge which took out your psu then it could also fry your hard disks as well.

Backing up to dvd isn't worth the risk as they degrade over time. You could get a high capacity memory stick or memory card, copy them to there every month or so and store it in a safe place for added protection or an external disk as said above would be a good bet too.
