Hi

Built my first system a couple of weeks ago and have been putting off the moving all my data form my old pc to the new one. i was wondering is it possible to connect the two pc's via ethernet and transfer the files that way it would cheaper than burning scores of dvds and a lot faster. can i just plug them in and away i go or is thier software allowing me to do this.

Thanks Hassan

just enable file sharing between the two computers, then transfer via a wired or wireless network or crossover cable

or

take the hdd out of the old pc and connect it to your new one and drag and drop the files across

thanks for the reply my old system is a vaio pcv w2 great pc but its an all in one system so the hd swap is out of the question.

buy a cheap external Hardd dive! its worth having one for backups anyway! plug it into the old one , drag and drop, plug it into the new on, drag and drop :)
