is it possible to transfer all my data from my xbox premium to an elite using a usb 2 gig memory stick??

No, you need to get a transfer kit for free from MS.

Given you can't write data to anything other than the Hard Disk or an official memory card, I'm not entirely sure how you thought that would be possible.

As Kreeee has said, you need the proper transfer kit.

oh so i need either a official memory card or the transfer kit from ms?

one more thing if i use either of the above does that remove all my personal data such as credit card information , or is this part of you gamertag which is all done over ms live?

You need the transfer kit, memory cards do not let you transfer everything.
