Hi

Does anyone know how to adjust the sensitivity of the movement sensor on this alarm?

I've looked through internet forums and can't find any instructions and the manual says to go to a DT dealer.

It's an alarm that was discontinued in 2002 so it can't be that difficult to adjust it.

After speaking to an alarm expert this is what he said should anyone else ever need the answer.

Hi Ish,

You can't really........ but assuming that the alarm isn't faulty, the following steps will help -

1.Ensure that the soft foam pads are stuck on the back of the alarm unit

2.Ensure that the alarm unit is secured firmly to the bike, either by the well-nuts or more likely by cable-ties.

3.Ensure that the loom exiting the alarm is also securely tied to the frame/bike

I have a Datatool on my Bonnie and it's ridiculously sensitive. Luckily it's garaged so strong winds don't set it off over night, but it will go off if you look at it funny sometimes!

I took out the alarm and immobilisers from the Trumpet Daytona. sensitive battery draining pile of rubbish.

would drain the battery within a day or two. removed and I can leave the bike weeks and starts straight away.

go near the bike and all I got was a brown trouser moment and sore ears!!

The Datatool Veto Evo was the bane of my life when I first got the gixxer. I had it removed by a very good auto electrician
