The date and time at the bottom of a text message..

What exactly does this corospond with? I.E .. Time sent from phone. Time sent from message centre to recievers mobile etc

Reason I ask is.. I'm on 02 and my cousin is on Three. She sent a text tonight which was time stamped as 9.53pm but she reckons she sent it hourssss earlier

I'm convinced its the Three network being lame again. As quite often texts I send her don't reach her.. and vice versa.

Cheers.

On my Samsung phone on o2 I would get the timestamp when the message was sent.

On my T-Mobile android phone, I get the timestamp of when the phone actually recieves it.

Basically, seems to vary :S

On my HD I regularly got replies back that were ordered before the one I sent... I only assumed it was the time from the other persons phone that it corresponds too, however I know that's not the case a lot of the time (eg new years eve) so I have no idea.

When a had a text message from a friend in australia, the text message would have a time stamp from the future. In fact they sent me a new year text one year which had next years year on it.
