Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer

Really random question and I've no idea if you'd remember or not. Dave walked out to a song of some sort that I can't find. All I can remember are the words "this is what you get" or something. No idea what it was have you?

My main takeway from that night was; there are levels to this game. I saw Chris Rock a few years back in Cardiff. Great show. But seeing him back-to-back with Dave was an eye opener. The difference in quality of their story telling was so apparent. Felt like Chris kept going back and stumbling lines but Dave just talked funny.

Yup he walked out to a repeated sample of Karma Police by Radiohead - which does match the lyrics you posted :)

He then left to Killing Me Softly by Roberta Flack.

I agree, I started to wonder whether Rock repeats himself as a stall to remember his jokes… he was still pretty funny though!

Oh my god I love you. That has been plaguing my mind since the event!!

Just as heads-up for Chappelle fans, he’s doing some shows in London and tickets are on sale this week. O2 priority tickets live, which you can access via a Virgin Media account as well.

I just got some awesome tickets, can’t wait.

Really hoping to get tickets. I'd love to see him live!

@Diddums blimey that got a bit spicy at times…!

I never get why people go to shows like this (audience) and get so riled up. Completely proved his point to when that guy yelled out “what’s right is right!” - well obviously it’s not always that straight-forward

I was in row 5, amazing to see him so close!

Edit: won’t share or hint at jokes or whatever in case he repeats anything at a special / other shows… but I had a blast. Lots of different subjects, all mega topical, with a good message too as usual :)

Excellent show, thoroughly enjoyed it! Worth every penny. You were pretty close to us then, we were in row 10. The heckling and shouting was a bit annoying but when you draw that type of crowd it's to be expected. I really enjoyed the surprise guests too, although one of them was very clearly a LOT weaker than the others.

Killer Mike was fantastic too, not something I'd wanna watch in a million years but the dude certainly put on a show!

Did you see the woman getting busted for recording? They refused to let her leave and forced her in to a security office thing, obviously to make sure she had no footage on her. It threw Dave off a bit as whilst he was trying to hide it, it was very clearly bothering him.

All in all a good night, would definitely do again! Next time no driving though, so I can have a beer.

Yup enjoyed Killer Mike :)

Ha no I missed that recording woman… I was right behind the guy Dave had a failed interaction with his ethnicity… super awkward, guess that thing can always fall flat but that’s the risk you take with audience interaction. That guy was up front at the end trying to shake Dave’s hand though so I guess he felt bad for not interacting.

People behind me were talking / shouting loudly to each other through all acts except Dave… so annoying! why do they always have to sit next to meeee :[

We had one sitting next to us who wouldn't shut up either, until my wife had a pop at him. Poor kid was very clearly blasted, after a few minutes he turns to us and offers us some of his Tangfastics, my wife felt like such a dunce :D

The ones behind us were constantly eating crisps and making that bag last forever, I suspect one day I'll be on the front page of the daily mail for choking someone to death with an empty crisp packet
