David Bowie has died

Can't say I was the biggest fan as he wasn't really in the same categories of music that I grew up with, but it's plain to see just how influential and important he was in the industry and of course in people's lives. I got a bit emotional watching the Snapchat 'Celebrating Bowie' story actually. Rest in Peace.

Affect millions of people? End of the day he was a singer making ££££££ people need to get a grip. Does it really need to be on the news none stop?? I think not...............sad that he's brown bread yes but come on

Did Metallica really need to be in the news when they sued their fans ?

Just because Bowie doesn't affect you doesn't mean it's not news....

And rightfully so but they weren't really fans.
Metallica were one of the first bands to allow all manner of bootleg recordings and even set aside pits for those with good equipment. All they asked for in return was a copy if it was good quality.
They didn't mind fans bootlegging live concerts but rightfully disagreed with people downloading their studio work for free.
Let's face it, if people downloaded it then they aren't fans because real fans bought their work.

Frank Zappa hired a radio station.Told people when he was going to play his latest LP so they could record it to cassette.

Metallica are greedy long haired scumbags. I mean how many more millions do they need? Why would they even care if people downloaded their music for free?

A complete no band in my mind who play Muzak

Frank Zappa was file sharing before the Internet was invented fact...he encouraged people to share his music by any means possible wether it be bought free or swapped...

Zappa like Bowie were artists...

It doesn't mean that every artist should follow his insane views.
So are you saying as soon as an artist reaches x million in their bank account they should work for free?

Because it is of course that news worthy. I think the global response is indicative of that. It's the same with any hugely famous personality. So what there is to get a grip on exactly I'm not sure.
