David Cameron - war criminal?

He was dammed if did and dammed if he didn't imo. I think you also need to consider who the MP's are that wrote this report, quite a few of them have an agenda against Cameron and I feel that the report contains a lot of personal bias that's overshadowing some of the facts.

It beggars belief, so many people killed, tortured, suffering and carried out on a whim. It's like war season, no intelligence, legality or exit strategy. Definitely created ISIS. Completely made a mess of the Middle East now, including various other countries. Somewhat just going with the staus quo though, the Americans probably dictate most of these things.

In the 2030's they will be investigating and apologising for the mess they made.

Who are we to invade and and create mayhem in these already conflicted countries and make yet a bigger mess of them.

war criminal?

How were his actions a 'war crime'?

You might disagree with intervening when some madman was massacring his civilians and about to cause a potential genocide in his country's second city but throwing around labels like 'war criminal' is just laughable hyperbole.

Actually, I heard about this on LBC this evening, where Ian Collins was asking if Cameron is a war criminal.

What are your thoughts on this OP?

Oh look, it's a sheep. How cute. I haven't had much time to form an opinion as I've been working hard all day and night. I could ask you the same. Oh wait though, you don't have much time to form opinions either due to your hectic gaming schedule...

Yes but why did you decide it was a valid question for a thread? Do you think he is a war criminal and if so then why?

What you did is generally considered bad form on forums. You can't just post and run.

As the OP is yours social responsibility to not just link articles, but to also start the discussion with your own thoughts on the topic at hand. If you have indeed had little time to form an opinion, creating a topic is in ill taste.

Lol, some people take this place so seriously. Don't have a go at me. I haven't thought that hard about it, don't have much of an opinion about nor care that much. I'm just reporting some news and putting a question out there that I heard a respected journalist ask. Just something you might be interested in discussing in the hope it might somewhat enlighten/educate me.

Doesn't the report say the intelligence saying about the threat to civilians was grossly over estimated, and soon after we started the intervention the mission statement changed from 'protect civilians' to 'change the regime', with as usual, no strategic plan for doing so or dealing with the aftermath.

intervening in Libya is a war crime

not intervening in Syria is a war crime

It seems the answer is to only intervene to shore up the regime to maintain stability. So, what we did the last half century - it's only a war crime when it hurts white people ;)
