Dawntide open beta has started!

http://www.dawntide.net/

Dawntide is an innovative new freeform MMOG being developed by Working as Intended, an independent
studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Dawntide is currently in open testing, it's free for anyone to join.

Player Cities with shops, crafting, military and many more buildings - plus upgrades!

Handcrafted island world with many exciting places to Explore and Conquer.

Fully Conquerable world with safe areas for new players!

Skill based progression. No more levels or classes!

Complex and fun Crafting allows players to create unique items with a wide range of materials.

Laws and guards allow players to truly rule the territory they conquer.

Deep and exciting background Lore to be discovered.

Single, uninstanced world makes your impact on the game meaningful.

I would be interested to know what people think of this new open-ended sandbox MMORPG
.. maybe form a Faction of OCUK players, it could be fun!! LMK if you want to sign up :)

Ideas for the OCUK faction name?

Website looks badly made or it is just because I am using IE6 because I am at work.

Will take another gander later.

Darkfall released.......Mortal Online just released......and another one comes along!

Difference is Darkfall is excellent, Mortal Online is getting their but this just looks terribad, no immersion at all. First person MMO's are the way forward y'all!

Always good to see another sandbox MMO, but I do rather question the validity of their use of the word "innovative".

Discussion on the "innovative" aspects of Dawntide
http://www.keenandgraev.com/?p=2892

Compared to other sandbox MMOs think I've found the best game for me with the best balance between PvP/PvE/crafting keeping both PvP'ers and nonPvP'ers happy, the game supports both hardcore and casual PvP/PvE.

The way things are progressing with Dawntide is encouraging, no NDA, helpful devs who listen plus a friendly community.. all one could ask for.

I am downloading it now, who else is trying it?

Me!! :D

Still dont think that "innovative" is the right word. Virtually everything I see in Dawntide has been done before in UO, thus it cannot be innovative.

Pretty much true. I'm downloading it any how, as im a sucker for anything that even has a vague chance of recreating the UO style experience.
