Hi.

Some of you will know I've been a moderator over on the Valve Day of Defeat forums for some years now.

We had some bad news a few days ago, one of our fellow webstaff was killed tragically in a shooting accident at a gun range in the USA.

I dont know if this is the correct place to post this, but since its gaming related, I thought I would post it in this section. Mods, feel free to move it if required.

I'll just copy and paste the details that Donner, the head admin over at the DoD forums, posted as an announcement there.

It saddens me that I have to post this announcement, but a little while ago, it was confirmed that one of our longstanding moderators at the webteam is dead. Many of you know him as "Tekkobra".

Christopher "Tekkobra" McKinzie has for quite a long time been a moderator here at the Day of Defeat forums, aswell as on the Red Orchestra forums. Chris was a very kind and loving man, known on these forums for his dedication - or passion if you will - to the gaming community.

Chris worked as a financial advisor for quite some time, and leaves behind him his fiancee Claudine, and two beautiful children. Our prayers go out to her and the children. His tragic death was, as far as we know, involving an accidental gunshot wound to the chest.

He will be missed.

If you wish to send letters or cards offering condolences, you may send them to the address below.

Rest in peace, Chris.

Sincerely,

RIP Chris m8, you will be sorely missed by everyone. :(

We dont know all the details yet.

What would appear to have happened is that Chris was at his usual gun-range and something happened. Whether it was an accidental discharge of a round from his own weapon, or another gun club members is not clear.
