Day of The Tentacle Special Edition - coming to PC

Oh I've been waiting for this for a long time. I still owned the original Toblerone-style special edition until recently (it vanished mysteriously after a clear out).

No time-travel game or film has ever matched the awesome majesty of the chron-o-john.
 
Good news, I'm surprised it's so far behind, seeing as story and concept was well done ages ago. and just updating it to modern pc.
 
not that bothered, the original will be better, Monkey island special edition was rubbish, only thing it did was allowed someone to mod the new voices into the original game on scummvm/dos. Day of the tentacle is voiced anyway so meh...
 
Game is now available to pre order from gog.com. actually looks pretty cool, it's the same graphics, just full screen and high resolution, like they're using the original art before it got downgraded to 256 colour vga for 1993 pcs!
 
Played it before, its just higher res redone art so i wont get it as nothing new to discover. Shame they just make remakes instead of sequels of good games like grim 2 or dott 2 or monkey island a new one etc.

No price yet though & they confirmed the Maniac Mansion is the PC enhanced 256 colour VGA version.

The DOTT remaster does not look any different/better than running the original game via ScummVM though so if you already own the game not sure its worth the $20 they want for it on Steam as the work put into it looks a little lazy to me!
