Looking to plan a day trip or two from Barcelona and have read up Monserrat and Gorona.

anyone done these before and if so would a day be enough to see the main parts?
Looking to go in November if the price is right.

Look at a daytrip to Port Aventura near Salou, leave early on the train as the train is normally packed in season, not sure what it's like out of season. I'm sure Port Aventura is still open in November, I know I went there over New Years once.

Also if you want a really long day trip, Andorra for some duty free shopping is only a 3 hour drive.

We went in March and it was just re-opening after closing for the Winter/dead season.

This was in 2010 so things might have changed.

Best thing would be to query it at a local travel agents' where they should be able to tell you when the resort opens and closes :).

Salou is a nice and friendly town too :)
