BBC news had an item yesterday, saying that the European Parliament has backed a proposal to stop the obligatory one hour time change twice per year.
From 2021 it’s proposed that all States choose either permanent Summer time, or permanent Winter time.
No doubt this is just a proposal, it will have to be debated and agreed, or not, as the case may be.
Deep joy I thought, I could stand permanent Summer time, but wait, aren’t we about to quit the club?
I can envisage still suffering the bi-annual clock changes here forever, as the soi-disant bunch who think that they know best, lead us whooping and cheering to the country that they’ll have got back, with no sinister “foreign” voices in our supermarkets any more.

Just saw on a U.S forum, that a whole bunch of States are thinking of getting rid of the time switch too.

Good and so everyone else should. This stupid one hr forward and one hr back nonsense is just that, absolute nonsense.

I’d prefer to have longer days than what we currently have.

While I’m sure that you meant that you’d prefer the days to be light for longer Yas, I think that you
led with your chin there, especially knowing the lightning reactions of the site’s resident wags.
