Daytona USA, 1994-2019: The king of arcade racing is 25 years old!

In order to celebrate this, I offer all fans (& myself) a high definition texture pack.

7 months of passion, editing or creating 480 textures...

Daytona and Dinosaur canyon are one of my favourite all time combo's. Even today it remains such a strong game.

This is some amazing dedication, props the guys that made this happen.

O man the pictures of it on the deviantart link are so nice , come on sega we need this on steam :)

Or just one off them in your home :)

How would you go about getting this game for PC in order to use the texture pack? Sorry if I've missed something obvious.

I checked GOG and didn't find it.

My family visited a retro arcade place a few weeks back, and my daughter loved the racing games, so it'd be great to get this for her to play (not me, honest)

its on sites to download mate for the PC , but do not want to link the sites as could be a rule breaker .....

its easy to find if u google it mate , there are sum good sites for really old games , wat u cannot get on pc anymore etc ....

I agree J35T3R, I have it on the PS3.

What is great though is when you head to a retro event, and they've got Daytona hooked up to a 4 play multi.

Brings it all back to 94 when my local arcade in town had a double.

Been many years since I've seen Daytona arcade anywhere. I spent most of my pocket money on that and Virtua Fighter. Oh and Sega Rally too.

Was so disappointed when the ports were made for the Saturn and they looked and played so poorly.

I just wanted to say that a final version has been released since you wrote these lines !
The gallery has of course been updated too ! I hope you'll appreciate it !

This is awesome, I missed it first time around.

On my stagger we went to an indoor karting facility in/around Amsterdam (supposedly the biggest in Europe) and they had an arcade section. Pride of place was a 6 or 8 way Daytona setup. Fantastic place; karting, bar, arcade and quazar. I think I need to go back. Need to get this first though.

Thanks for your nice feedback !!
I miss these old arcades (and pinballs) we had everywhere in France a long time ago...
We can still find a few (old) cabinets in some big cinemas.
There are probably arcades in Paris, but as I hate this town and never go there...

Not so long ago Sega uploaded the files for the latest arcade version to one of their servers and the public were able to download it, it was DirectX compatible so it could be run on PC but people needed to hack the controls.

Sure !Daytona Champ 2017 is visually the most impressive version of Daytona USA. But I prefer the vehicule handling from the good old arcade version ;).
