Hi there guys,
my current specs are in my signature and I am wondering what you think I should next upgrade?
I am very tempted to go intel and get a G3258, but am not sure if this will actually increase my performance? or just allow me to upgrade more in the future?

If I was you and wanted to upgrade I would get a faster graphics card. Cpu won't make a performance difference NOR will gpu in dayz it's so terribly optimised so get a new gpu max settings out and have exact same performance :) but a better looking game

OK thanks, do you know which setting i would change in game to get the graphics up but not effect the CPU usage?

I wouldn't say that a new CPU wouldn't affect DayZ as it's well known to be CPU dependent. There are many tutorials around to help improve DayZ performance and there is an updated one on Reddit which is a few days old and now I want to find it again I can't.

gpu but arma bi products dont get optimized.

ideally just find a good run server.that restarts regular. you have a decent ssd make sure its installed on that.

i always put shadows to off. youtube for settings loads of videos.

DayZ Standalone is a modified version of the ARMA2 engine, notoriously CPU dependent (the same goes for ARMA3 too!). If your CPU is the bottleneck, then a new GPU will not make a lick of difference for DayZ.

If you want to upgrade to new then I recommend the Intel Devil's Canyon CPUs (LGA 1150) if you've got the cash. The Radeon 270X is fine for DayZ/ARMA2 but for newer games then a good bang for buck GPU is the GTX 970.

I have played loads of ARMA2 Sa-Matra Wasteland on a GTX 660 Ti and a I5 4670K, runs smooth for me.
