Dc jack socket repair price?

Hi guys, how much have you or would you expect to pay a company to repair you DC jack socket on your laptop if its snapped off and meant your laptop was no longer powering up?

I charge £30 + the part which I think is maybe too cheep, what do you guys think?

Spoke to a friend that runs a small repair shop and he charges 65

We charge £60 + £10 for the replacement jack if needed.

It's interesting you are confident of being able to replace DC jacks. I've tried it and while successful it took ages to de-solder and I wasn't confident lol.

Are there easy to do de-soldering techniques for de-soldering a DC jack? :confused:

all the apropriate equipment, a very hot iron solder fluc and a deslder pump should do it, otherwise clamp the laptop mobo securely to something if you can then heat all point of the jack wile having someone pul it of with pliers

Hot air soldering is best for sockets, saves loads of time.

I have good equipment and soldering was all i did as a job for 3 years a long time ago. Also find it best with hot air
