DC Online cannot be resold!

Im honestly not that suprised, I think the games industry will accelerate their methods to ensure a second-hand market is all but nonexistent in the next couple of years...

Its why DLC is being sold as soon as a game is launched (moreso its being advertised as such way before the game is gold) and online passes to restrict functionality past the original owner...

It has always been the norm for a subscription based game...
I dont think you read the link properly if you think that

I can sell WOW and someone else can use it and create a subscription account and start playing it, with this the account is linked with the disc (or more the case you cant buy an account from any source) so if you buy a second-hand copy, you cant do anything with it.

It forces you to buy a brand new copy as theres no method to setup an account post original purchase...

EDIT: I guess you could sell the account as with other MMOs but I doubt people will want to part with their whole PSN account

You're not really selling WoW though are you? All you're selling is the media which no one needs as they can just download the client directly from Blizzard. Who would actually pay to buy just the disc?

They still have to set up their own account and by simply buying the media from you they also lose out on the free 30 day subscription so that's pointless.

Ah, for some reason I read it as "from the disc" rather than "with the disc". :(

I've always known this to be the case anyways. Shops wont take Final Fantasy 11 for example. But I have never known it to be this strictly implimented.

FF11 could still be sold online for instance

Fair point - I wasnt aware WOW and other MMOs had their clients available to download online - though I guess my point isnt moot since we are mainly taking about the console implementation which I dont think has the same ability...
