but to be fair, it was one of the nicest examples around.

I don't know of anyone on there worth listening to that would tell you that you can do that.

Ask yourself why would you want to raise the rev limit in the first place? To move the powerband higher up, great, that's usually inclusive of using aftermarket cams. Anything with lift over and above standard will be getting mighty close to coil bind.
 
I noticed this yesterday, but in the flesh yellow seems to be one of the least "dating" colours if it's nicely polished etc, makes older shapes look more modern if you get me.

My comment regarding a raised rev limit had absolutely nothing inclusive regarding safety for the engine and mechanical sympathy. Just pointed out that it has been done and there are positive performance results, albeit with a big big unknown of the lifespan of the internals.

Silly thing to do tbh, better to leave it as intended unless doing some serious modifications.
