I'm getting heavy CPU usage by svchost.exe (Dcomlaunch) I'm not talented enough to know what this is but its a royal pita.
If I leave to PC running for long enough (a few hours) eventully it starts up - running 50% cpu usage spread across both cores. It slows everything down massively - restarting gets rid of it for so long.
There is a bit of info on this but no definitive answer - can anyone shed some light on this for me? I want to disable it if I can but from what I have read it will cause problems if I do.

I already read that - I dont have any issues with media player either. Thanks anyways
I'm just using process explorer to see if I can track it down a little further - just have to keep waiting for the bug to come back so its taking a while.

Just incase anyone was remotely interested I found the problem using Process Explorer

I narrowed it down to a Nokia driver update program and Samsung Studio 3 (which was a failed install and wasnt removed cleanly) Clearly there is a link as both programs are for mobile phones. I just updated the nokia drivers to see if that helps - Not sure how I'm going to deal with the Samsung program as its not supposed to exist!
