Ok, I'm hoping someone here with more networking knowledge that myself can help me out with this one. For some time now, I've been getting awfully frustrated at the lack of features and functionality on offer from the Sky router that I was handed. So only recently, I decided to turn my Sky router into a modem using the following guide from Brian69:

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/wireless-adapters/39861-sky-router-wireless-n-router-me-mess.html

Now the router I'm using is a Netgear WNDR3700 that has no modem capability, and can only be used as a router. Now after following the instructions, everything looked alright. The new DD-WRT router was assigning me an IP using DHCP but for whatever reason I was still unable to connect to the net.

Out of curiosity, I assigned a static IP to see if my internet connection was still live via the Sky modem(router) and it worked like a charm. So somewhere down the line, I've slipped up but I really don't know where. I followed that guide step by step and still can't seem to get online.

I've included a few screenshots to hopefully help bring some clarity to my predicament.

Here you can see I'm being assigned a new IP via the Netgear:

It is here in the screenshot below that I think there is an issue. I've highlighted in red the WAN IP that I don't seem to be getting assigned:

And lastly, here is a screenshot of the wireless settings configured using DD-WRT:

Can anyone here offer any assistance? I'd really like to get DD-WRT up and running so I can begin making full use of my routers capabilities rather than being confined to the limitations handed down by Sky.

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need me to answer any more questions, feel free to ask and I'll try get back to you as quickly as possibly!

From the looks of the second thread you posted, it looks like some people have had success configuring their Netgear router online.

Hi right i have just tryed this and no nothing about networking but now i am running without Sagemcom router and running off my WNDR3700 router and seams to be running fine

I'm hoping you sent me that second link with another shot of getting myself online! Previously with my old provider Bethere, I complained about their featureless modem/router that they provided but I took every last complaint back. It's only now what I've seem (or rather not seen) on offer using the Sky provided routers with what I can only describe as their crappy firmware!
