im looking to upgrade my existing router as i want to get some gigabit ports to improve transfer speed for my server/network.

can anyone recommend a cheap wireless router that has some gigabit ports. also able to run the mentioned firmwares

I'd just buy a gigabit switch and run it along side your exsisting router

i was thinking of that. but i want to reduce the electrical clutter i have. also i was considering the amount i was going to spend on the switch, i could just invest into the router.

As has been discussed here many times, separate routers and switches for home equipment will generally be cheaper and perform better.

dm111p (1 port adsl) ------->wrt54gl(dd-wrt)----switch

im guessing this would be the setup ?

am200/am300 for the modem.
