Hi all,
Really in need of an upgrade now. Obviously do not want to pay current DDR5 prices.
What else do I miss out on by staying with DDR 4?
My only concern is I have basic DD4 RAM so that's why I am reluctant to upgrade and stick with DDR4.
Buying fast DDR4 seems a bit silly. I could always buy the cheapest DD4 board and use my current basic RAM for now.
Then in a year or two swap the board to DD5 and more mature RAM.
Does that sound like a plan? Also with regards to CPU cooling, would my Kraken X31 be suitable to cool a 12600k?
Is there even an adaptor bracket from the 6700k socket to the Alderlake socket for my ageing cooler or would it be wise to upgrade that as well? It's just over 6 years old, just looked at my order history on here!
I assume at that age it will not have long left. It's been on 24/7 this year mining as well!
Thanks,
Sean
