Hi guys, i have a mate with a pair of DDC's. One has the plexi top with res and the other is just the pump. He wants to know if he can run them in parallel. He would have the pump with the plexi res first in the loop followed by the pump on it's own, then off to all his blocks and the rad, then back to the pump with the res. He is cooling the CPU, 2x7900gtx, NB, SB and the VRM's on his mobo.

1. Is this possible?
2. Would he see any gains?
3. Would he be better off with two seperate loops?

I have tried to talk him out of doing the SB and VRM's but he won't back down. He currently has a Nexxxos Extreme lll rad but is changing to an Alphacool Cape Cora passive rad. His graphics blocks are the Alphacool 7800/7900 full cover blocks, Alphacool Nexxxos CPU and NB blocks and an Alphacool AN8 VRM block for the mobo. Not sure about the SB.

going by your description ,it seems its going in series, one pump followed by the other then onto blocks etc. that should help with all blocks concerned.

running in parrallel would'nt see any gains whatsoever .

Two separate loops would be better imo.

Also as stated the pumps are in series the way you describe which would give more head pressure. I would think you would see better temps though by using 2 separate loops rather than combining the heatdump of all your components to one loop.
