Hi Chaps, I have some G Skill ram pc1600 ddr3 in my PC but this is running at 1333 as the settings for this are set as auto in the bios.
I think I should set the memory up myself and set the i/o bus clock to 800 and then it should run at 1600mhz.?
Would this effect my cpu multiplier settings, I find my phenom likes a high multiplier over a raised fsb so I am over clocking it with just the cpu multipler and she is 100% stability wise like this.
I hate the new memory settings makes me feel like a retard.:(

Don't you mean PC3-12800, DDR3 1600?
You don't have to change bus clock speed to change the speed of the memory. The RAM works asynchronously.
Just change the DRAM frequency to the required speed.

yea, the phenom's memory controller defaults to 1333 but you can simply switch it to 1600 and all will be fine- a lot of amd boards even advertise this.
