Help me understand.

Would something like this

DDR3 PC3-17000 2133MHz DIMM 11-11-11-30 XMP Ready

Run faster than this

DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz DIMM 10-10-10-27 XMP ready

Or even this

DDR3 PC3-10666 1333Mhz DIMM 9-9-9-25

I'm only just beginning to understand timings but I don't quite know just how much a difference they make, is it normal for speedier ram to ham slacker timings? If they are slacker doesn't that slow it down?

Thanks in advance.

You have listed them in descending order of data rate 17000, 12800, 10666 I think, this is more important than timings and the two are directly related, one goes up so does the other

Ah thanks, I had listed them in that order because I could see them get tighter as the frequency dropped. So all things considered I should be going for the fastest RAM then, does it really make that much of a difference?

It makes enough difference to be worth an extra tenner at the absolute most, but its better to just buy the Samsung ram for less and OC it yourself.
