Hello,

Just got a new PC with the following core parts:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB8500C5DC)
(GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 )

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-203-IN
(Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 LGA775 'Yorkfield')

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
(Asus P5E Intel X38)

I've not overclocked it yet but am going to soon (want to see how stock is first), first problem i've spotted is that the ram is showing as 'PC2-6400 (400MHz)' according to CPU-z?

I've changed the BIOS memory to 1066, but it's made no difference?

Any advice?

I've sorted it now thanks! I had to not only set the memory to '1066' (which i had done) but the Command Rate to 'T2' not auto.

overclocking questions to follow!

Cheers

Cheers I'll give it a read.

For the record the memory still shows as PC-6400, but is running at PC-8500 speed (533mhz~) in the memory tab
