DDR2 better than DDR??? (vague thread titles'r'us)

Yep only amd's suffer @ high latency's, on intel based pc's latency's hardly ever matter, just pure mhz, for amd system ddr2 is just a little bit faster, but on intel based pcs its a lot faster.

Curious - along with the benchmark set posted above, along with another load done by that website concerning witches' magic, would say otherwise.

P4s @ 250MHz FSB w/ 3-3-3-8 timings performed no better than the same chips @ 200MHz FSB w/2-2-2-5 timings.

I think a more accurate way of putting such a statement across would be that Intel-based systems suffer less of a hit when twiddling with latencies than AMD-type ones due to the processor designs, but they still get it in the knackers.

Obviously, with DDR2-800, etc. the story will undoubtedly be somewhat different, but the margins - extrapolation required - would not be huge. At all.
