DDR2 EEC registered. Will it work?

I am looking at purchasing some 2x2GB DDR2 3200 ECC Registered will this work with any DDR2 mobo or do you have to have a specific mobo to support EEC.

Depends on the board. The ASUS P5Wxx-WS boards support registered RAM I believe, but I'm not sure on others.

Why not just purchase 4x 1GB sticks or 2x2GB stick which are unregistered? It would be a LOT cheaper than registered stuff...

I'm pretty sure it is only specifically server orientated boards that support registered DDR2, the majority of desktop boards will support ECC and non-ECC unbuffered only.
