DDR2 motherboards compatible with DDR?

As the thread title says can I use DDR memory on boards that say they support DDR2?

No cos they have different amount of pins, DDR has 184 and DDR2 has 240 pins and the notches are in different places.

No its the asrock VSTA, the conroe board
