Hi,

I'm getting a new motherboard and an i5 soon, however my current computer is using 4GB DDR2 RAM. Does anyone know of any motherboards that use the LGA1156 slot and are compatible with DDR2 RAM. I'm trying not to make my upgrades anymore expensive.

Cheers,
Henry

With the current low price of ddr3 and relatively high price of second hand ddr2 you'll probably make £10 or so with the upgrade.

Wow seriously :O
Maybe I will do that then. I only bought my RAM a few weeks ago so it hasn't really been used much. Do you know a decent place (other than Ebay because I hate it) to sell old PC gear?

OCUK members market.

But to access it you need a total of 250 posts and registered for 3 months.

If you are going to buy a i5 and 1156 board new then i would advise against it. 1156 prices are stupid now and you can get a 1155 i5 2500k (sandybridge) for the same price as a 1156 i5 760. It makes far more sense to go down the sandybridge/P67/Z68 route.

Have to agree with that.
