Evening all,

I recently bought a new machine (well.. june) and whilst the machine is still pretty good spec, I know that I should have spent a little bit more money on the insides..

Its an E6600 @ stock speeds with 2gb pc5300...

I use a brand new dell precision in work (2d/3d autocad / architectural desktop / paramics modelling beast) but I'm starting to do some bits n pieces at home and as such I'd like to upgrade my *home* machine as much as I can on a budget....

I cant afford to upgrade my graphics card, so it really only leaves me with the possibility of adding some ram...

from the ocuk list - which 2gb of memory (2 x 1gb) should I get? bearing in mind i've just got bog standard dell memory (hyundai i think) currently in my machine it... is it going to make much difference??

Or would it be more worthwhile buying 4gb of matched memory and swapping the old modules out?? this machine is not going to be overclocked in anyway... so I assume I may have just answered my own question!?

Any help appreciated,

-Tom :)
