ddr2 questions

please excuse question but if i get 1gb of ram now (2x512) can i get another 2x512 later on and not affect performance or overclock?

i know with my sli-dr i had to drop to 2t but that was ddr and not ddr2...

Depends, with AMD setups you have to run 4 sticks at 2T, but with the Core2 duo setup i used to have it didnt have a 1t or 2T option ( gigabyte DS3 mobo ) but running 4 sticks didnt degrade performance
