Good evening folks.

I have a question regarding some ram that I have and ram that I am thinking of purchasing.

It's an old core2quad system that I am thinking of adding some extra ram to. Currently the ram in it is
corsair 2 x 4gig sticks xms2 6400 800 mhz cl 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8v.

I am looking to add another two sticks and have seen very similar ram

2 x 4 gig stick xms2 6400 800mhz cl 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v

The question is and hopefully someone would be able to helps is if I purchased this ram and stuck them straight in will it work. If so what changes do I have to make via bios to get them to work in harmony without problems, that is if it works.

Thank you very much in advance

should work ok, but why would you want to, 16gb in a core2duo, cant think of what use that would be, do you know that the motherboard supports 16gb Ram?

I thought it would. it's actually my house mate who has a core2quad system still and wants to play gta.

following specs he has

asus p5e deluxe
4 gigs of ddr2 ram (wanting 8 in total)
msi gtx960 4 gb

the minimum specs from what I see of the game that is lacking is the ram as 8.
