DDR2 RAM running extremely hot

How do you know, have you touched it?

I'm sure they do get hot as most now come with heatsinks. Have you over clocked it, using the correct voltage?

Whats the airflow like in your case?

You could always try THIS if you're really worried.

If the Memory is running that hot (much hotter than it actually should be) its faulty Memory surely?

When you buy Memory your not expected to buy some kind of Memory cooler to cool the modules down.

It should run at a reasonable temperature.

Thats all providing you have your Memory at stock settings.

If you have overclocked it one bit, then thats down to you. :)

It is hot - i touched it yes.

I did overclock previously but have removed the overclock. Although I didn't change the memory voltages, I do recall them being set a bit high by default.

Everything is set back to auto now (P5B deluxe) - maybe i will go in and manually set all the voltages, etc, and see if that makes it run cooler.

You can get some RAM heatsinks they are pretty cheap and point a case fan onto your ram if you are worried.
