Basically, I just ordered my entire PC, including a:
Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
To make a long story short, it is not DDR3 like it says it is, it is only DDR2.
I am asking you experts to advise me what to do, go for a DDR3 motherboard or order some DDR2 RAM. What would make the system run faster? 4GB of DDR3, or 4GB of DDR2? Now obviously, the DDR3 RAM will be quicker, but will it be a noticeable difference with an:
AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE?

Please Help =)

TBH there is no noticeable difference between the 2.

I had a DDR2 machine with a Q9550 and 8GB DDR2 RAM and it ran beautifully, but now i have a AMD 955 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and the performance is pretty much the same.

So i would say it's worth getting DDR3 if you can afford it :)
