Much different between these?

Am looking at upgrading to an Intel Quad Core and want 8gb of ram but am looking at a SFF so looks like its going to be DDR2, but is this going to be a big difference between DDR and should i wait for DDR3?

Higher bandwidth with ddr3 I think, I bought it re : future proof. It probably isn't fully exploited yet, not a great deal of choice of ddr3 memory atm but then again I bought mine back in June, things probably moved on a little bit since then.

If you got a system set-up with a big overclock (Big CPU-GHz, Big FSB-MHz) then you really need as much memory bandwidth as possible so either that will be super dooper fast DDR-2 or standard DDR-3.

I've not used any but I imagine that DDR3 is better however its one of those exponential returns things, i.e yes DDR3 is faster than DDR2 but the huge price premium you have to pay for the DDR3 really doesn't seem worth it!

I'm right into the memory/northbridge business at the moment and DDR2 still offers great performance for what you pay, 4GB quality DDR2 kits seem like a good investment! :)
