DDR3 Dilemma ...

hi guys

few weeks ago i bought an MSI P35 Diamond B Grade (tested and working

) for 12p but as far as I am aware it only takes DDR3 800/1066/1333.

This leads me onto my question, and I am on a tight budget too .. what RAM do I buy for this mobo? Are there likely to be large cuts for ddr3 when nehalem surfaces? When will this be? I really only want to spend about £60 on the RAM in all honesty so do I just go for the cheapest 2GB set of DDR3?

atm i'm thinking Q6600 for all round performance and future-proofing, and I will be overclocking it.

@ WJ, will the mobo support 1600mhz ram? Looking at what it supports it's only 800/1066/1333 .. assuming it's in mhz ?

You should be able to get 3.6GHz on the Q6600 with the RAM still at stock speeds. Mind you, it would need to be as I think that RAM is CAS9 or something!

So if I was to buy 2GB of 1600mhz stuff from a competitor for £80 then I'd be able to use it at those speeds no probs with my mobo? and it's worth the extra cost over a set of 1333mhz stuff?

I ended up just buying 2GB's cheap Corsair 1333mhz stuff off that ever so famous auction site =)
