Is it possible to put duel Channle DDR3 RAM in triple channle slot mobo? Im thinking of upgrading to i7 from Phenom 955 but I cant afford the triple stuff just yet ><
P.s is there REALLY that much improvement over duel channle?

I believe you can but triple channel memory will be disabled. It depends if the system requires equal RAM in all three banks.

The 1366 platforms strengh is its high bandwidth provided by the triple memory so not much point in the upgrade tbh.

Core i7 is faster clock per clock than Phenom II so it may be a good upgrade, especially with OCing the CPU. The issue here will be at what speed the memory can be run if the user adheres to the 1.65v DRAMv limit suggested by Intel. If the RAM in question is rated for higher than 1.65v, the user may not be able to run them at spec.
