DDR3 on DDR2

Hi Guys,

I have a Abit IN9 32X-MAX, I was wondering will DDR3 work on it. I mean DDR3 looks the same as DDR3, so you recon Abit might release a BIOS patch to
support dual channel DDR3?

No they are phiscally diffrent.

they have same number of pins, but the notch is slightly further down the stick so wont fit in the slot

Thanx guys great help, I wanted to buy new ram but thought I'll wait for DDR3 be cheaper if it fits my Mobo.

I would say DDR3 wont become the norm until another year or so, their is a lot left in DDR2 to be had.
