I'm thinking of jumping on the DDR3 deal on this week only offer considering I have DDR3 support on my mobo, but i've heard that with DDR3 overclocks are restricted by quite a bit.

Can anybody with this mobo and DDR3 share their experiences?

Another here!

Only thing is, there are just 2 slots compared to DDR2s 4 slots, so above 4GB will be impossible, but it's not really needed just yet.

imho it's not worth doing, p35 is relatively old. btw you will not get much performance because of this change. stay with ddr2 when you have this mobo.

if you really want ddr3 then go to i7

Here I am! :D

Yep, I went from DDR2-800 to DDR3-1333. Boot up times are slightly improved and I get a couple of extra FPS in games. The downside is my system has become somewhat unstable at my overclock. My CPU no longer likes staying at 3GHz, and occasionally resets at boot-up. This might be because my motherboard was cheap second hand stock and might have a borky DDR3 memory controller. Whatever, it works. Just.

The GA-P35C-DS3R and other GB mobos from that age suffer a rebooting/black screen problem on even slight overclocks on some configurations. I've had problems since I added another 2 sticks to make 4GB. Only a complete reset of the BIOS (by taking out the battery) solved the problem, for now.

i have this ddr3 combo and Q8200 cpu and 4 gig of corsair 1333mhz ram. my overclock won't settle at any o/c above 375 fsb x 7.

apparently my i should get higher but could it be a mobo problem - gb P35C DS3R rev 2.0?
