DDR3 or DDR2 with an AMD Phenom II Quad Core

Which ram would be better DDR2 or DDR3? System is mainly going to be gaming (simulation) i want to run 4gb?

DDR3 without a doubt, the DDR2 kits are almost the same price. So why not go for DDR3.

^because the mobos cost a fair bit more? XD
But if you wait out a bit longer, the ddr3 will surely drop in price.

For an extra £4 is it worth getting the more expensive one so i can run more ram? How do I know which RAM each board can take?

sorry, what i meant was, how do i know which RAM each motherboard will take i.e. PC3-*****. How do i know if the board will accept the ram depending on what the numbers under the stars are?
