Hi guys,

As the title says, really. The RAM is G.Skill Ares DDR3 2 x 8GB 2400Mhz fitted into a Gigabyte X58A-UDR3 mobo with an Intel i7 920 CPU.

I've tried to manually change the frequency in the BIOS along with enabling XMP but it won't boot, needed me to reset the CMOS before it will do so successfully. The voltage on the RAM states it should be 1.65 but my BIOS (recently flashed) only allows even numbers, but that can't be the issue...

What am I missing? Thank you.

Thanks for your response. Have only been fiddling around for a week and it's making me want to go back to the consoles already!

I'm at work but will give it a whirl when I get home. However, I do remember that you can't actually enter the number in the BIOS, it is just a multiplyer with the highest of 18.0 being sufficient for the 2400Mhz readout.
