DDR3 Sockets

Already posted this one in Motherboard section so apologies for duplication.

Am I ok to install 3 off 2GB DDR3 modules into any of the 6 available on my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R?
It's just that there are 3 white sockets and 3 blue.

to get the triple channel performance use the same colour.

It should say in the manual...
I believe it tends to be the second, fourth and sixth sockets (the colour on the right) but I don't know if that's universal.

doesn't matter which colour you fill up first.

use either all blue or all white, otherwise the triple channel performance is not used.

manual quotes the following for 3 channel operation

DDR3_1 DDR3_3 DDR3_5

These just happen to be the White coloured sockets.

there you go then, but what happen when you want too add more ram? you then fill the blue ones.

Hope it'll be awhile before i need more than the 6GB....
