ddr3 vs ddr4

Hi guys/gals,

I need a little advice, so I have a prebuilt predator g3-710 tower which comes with a single stick of 8gb ddr4 ram (i believe is it valueselect) clocked at 2133. i also have an old pc that has 2 sticks of corsair vengeance 4gb DDR3 1866. I cant at the moment afford to double up on the DDR4, so my question is would it be better for me to keep the single 8gb stick or switch it out for the 'gaming' vengeance ram?

DDR3 and DDR4 aren't compatible.

switching it out would mean switching the motherboard out

if your current motherboard is DDR3, then thats what it takes... DDR4 won't fit in the same slot as a DDR3 set

They are not compatible with each other and have different slots/contact layouts anyway.
