DDR4 - 16 to 32gb

Hello!

I'm currently running 16gb of DDR4

And I'm looking to whack in another 16gb.

Is it worth scrapping the 16 I've currently got and buy 2x16gb, or should I just buy another 2x8 and have 4x8 in total?
Do they also need to be the same brand/speeds for efficiency? If anyone has any recommendations that'd be ideal!

Different memory usually work together but the motherboard will default the memory to run at the slower speed and settings if any diffrence .

Running 4 sticks of memory can be a problem but you won't no till you try. Memory is cheap for 32gb (£80 ) so I would be tempted to go for 2 sticks and sell your 8 pack stuff .

Great stuff thank you - any speed recommendations I should be going for? Last time I bought any was in 2018 haha
