DDR5 not better than 4 ?

history has taught us that ideal ram speeds for ram type double so:

ddr1 = 400mhz
ddr2 = 800mhz
ddr3 = 1600mhz
ddr4 = 3200mhz
so ddr5 should be = 6400mhz

ram did start of slower for each type too just like ddr5 has. e.g ddr3 started off at 800mhz stuff etc
now there are faster ram speeds in the categories e.g 1066mhz in ddr2 and 2133 in ddr3 but for best price to performance the above list is about right.
so i wont bother with ddr5 until 6400 is the main speed available and at cheapo prices.
(quotes speeds are ddr so actual speed of something like ddr3 1600mhz is really 800mhz etc)

Oh man that sucks! first time i've heard of DPD doing such thing! Was that their explanation then?

Included paper work (red tape) was incomplete apparently.
Things have been a little 'awkward' since Brexit to be honest, but I don't really know why.
As nothing has changed between the UK and the Channels Islands.

Anyway received my kit now, so I'm all set to do either a Zen 4 or Raptor Lake build later this year / Q1.

That's not too shabby if it tests rock stable without errors.
Annoyingly my kit has been returned back to retailer by DPD, some kind mess up with the included paper work.
Just as well I'm not in a hurry lol.

After another clean install of windows 11 cos i managed to bork the last one up! Done more testing, 12 passes of memtest86 and still rock solid! I honestly think i can go more but there's little to gain from it at this point. I'd rather push for more mhz but the board is limited to 6400mhz so im kinda bummed out.

I think right now you want higher frequency, it's abit more important than tighter timings. Plus with a higher frequency set you can always overclock them if you're confident and tighten the timings afterwards.

I managed to overclock my 5600mhz set to 6200mhz without much trouble then tighten the timings.
