Generally not very much of a clock boost with cl5 mem. If you can find some cl4 stuff it's usually an indicator that you can loosen the timings and increase the clock considerably.
I had one of those sets. It did just shy of 1000mhz at 1.9V, I'm fairly sure it would have run at 1066 if I'd given it more voltage to work with, but I was only after enough for a 472 fsb.
Ram doesn't like being overvolted much, 2V is about the highest I'm prepared to go on ddr2.
Depending on the VID of your Q6600, then the standard 3.2Ghz overclock should be pretty easy with 400FSB x 8.0 multipler which won't even break a sweat on the RAM as it would just be on the 800Mhz barrier of the DDR2-6400.
If it can manage 3.6Ghz stable with 400 x 9.0 with some voltage adjustments, then you could try for 450 x 8.0 for 3.6Ghz which will then start to overclock your RAM and see how far it goes before it ends up at an FSB wall.
8GBs will hinder your overclock quite a bit as it puts more stress on the Northbridge and so require some higher voltages, but you should still be able to get 3.2-3.4GHz though.
