Anyoen else noticed the new DDR3 memory?

What will it be used for and when?

err.... it'll be used for the same as DDR2, with the compatible P35/X38 chipsets. :confused:

At the moment looks to be performing worse than DDR2 untill higher mem speeds/tighter latencies are possible. Expensive too.

As for when..... err.... now? There are reviews around already!

What a joke! no one will want to use DDR3 until the timings are a bit better than 27,9,9,9.

The latencies on DDR3 are not as bad as they sound. They scale proportionally as frequency increases.

remember how people said the same for ddr2 with its slow latencies compared to ddr1.

its just a matter of time when ddr3 becomes the norm.

ny next system has got to have 16 gigs of ram thats why i gonna wait and see what becomes of this.

2nd .some servers don't even use that much RAM
