ddr's future

Afaik memory is big time influenced by demand, it'll prolly stay around the price it is now for awhile but slowly get harder to come by (especially premium brands) until it ends up quite a bit more expensive than DDR2 (look at the prices of new SD  ).

Why is memory getting more expensive? I hear the prices of DDR2 have been going up as well.

Supply and demand.

With DDR2 production ramping up, DDR production has dropped so prices are rising.

DDR2 prices are rising because the demand is very high with C2D systems becoming popular.

G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) was out of stock 3 weeks ago, priced at £154 then. I bought some in the MM for £135 that week. Now it is in stock and is £176!

I didn't get such a bad deal after all.

DDR2 is generally cheaper Ive found, I got 2gb for 55 quid and it does 333mhz.
I think your'll smaller ddr chips will become cheap secondhand but the faster and larger chips will only get more expensive now
